This is a weekend class for beginning blacksmiths. No experience is necessary. Students will build from scratch a complete flail in two sessions Saturday and Sunday. Shop orientation and safety, proper fire management and hammering techniques will be covered and the flail head will be forged on the first day. The handle, chain, twist and assembly on the second day. Students will use a power hammer in this class. The goal is for each student to leave with a completed flail.

Class includes safe shop practices, fire management, efficient hammer techniques and basic forging. All safety equipment and materials provided.

Class Cost:

Price at check out is class tuition plus $15 booking fee.

Transfer, Cancellation, and Refund Policy:

Call to make any changes to your registration. Transfers and cancellations must be made more than 14 days before class in order to receive a refund. There is a $75 fee for any transfer, cancellation, or refund.
